AAUW Supports ALL Kids First!
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) of Michigan, representing
approximately 4000 members in 53 branches around the state, stands in support
of ALL Kids First!, and in opposition to a proposed amendment to the Michigan
Constitution that would permit a voucher system to allow public tax money to
go to private and parochial schools.
AAUW believes in the separation of church and state, and supports a strong
system of public education that promotes gender fairness, equity and
diversity. AAUW opposes the use of public funds for nonpublic elementary
and secondary education. AAUW believes that public education is the foundation
of a democratic society.
