Gray Panthers Press Release Concerning Public Education

The Gray Panthers of Huron Valley and the Gray Panthers of Metro Detroit support a public school system that is financed by public funds.

We oppose a constitutional amendment that would replace Article VIII, Section 2 of the current Michigan Constitution that protects the separation of church and state.

We oppose vouchers, tuition tax credits and opportunity scholarships that would divert public tax monies from public education to support private and religious schools.
