ADRIAN, Mich.-- Delegates from the 473 churches of the Detroit
Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church voted opposition to school vouchers and any other program that would divert public funds for the use of private education.
The resolution supports ALL Kids First! in its efforts to defeat the
voucher initiative slated to be on the November ballot.
The United Methodist Church - Detroit Conference has a total membership of
104,713 in the eastern lower peninsula and the entire Upper Peninsula
of Michigan. The annual conference concluded its four day business
session last night at Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
